Local: - Burleigh Heads
Favourite wave: Mangamanu in Kiakoura, NZ: i haven’t surfed it much but that’s where I caught my first real wave and it’s etched in my memory. Naturally, Burleigh Heads is home and i love it.
Interests: Surfing, travel, politics, history, people, the sea.
Why GCSurf?:
I love writing and surfing so it makes sense and as a budding journo it’s great to be published. Working with Tony is easy. He’s a really relaxed guy, flexible and open to ideas. It’s also really nice to work in a system where things are spread around on goodwill and with good vibes.
Experience outside GCSurf? – surf.co.nz and i’m with the courier mail as an intern.
Aspirations:
Far out, so many! For now i’d be happy to pick up any graduate position as a journo (in any medium) on any coastline of the world. Ultimately though, a foreign correspondent. I also really like the idea of having a column – I really like to make a point.
Favourite surfing moment:
Ha, it’s like an overload of information when i think about it. of course there a few flashbacks but honestly i couldn’t pick one out especially.
